RICS : The Mark of property professionalism worldwide

 

Formed in 1868 in London, RICS, the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, is today one of the most important international organizations for real estate professionals.

Today RICS has 110 000 members across 120 countries worlwide, 50 national associations of which RICS France, and 300 degree level courses approved worldwide.


Accountable to both members and to the public, RICS has four main roles :

Maintaining the highest educational and professional standards
Protecting consumers through strict codes of practice
Represent the profession within European institutions
Promoting the diverse knowledge of the profession

 

RICS has organized 16 Faculties regrouping fields such as :

Commercial Property, Planning and Development, Valuation, Environment, Dispute Resolution, Facilities Management, Construction, Building Surveyor…

 

Each Chartered Surveyor belongs to at least one Faculty, and has the opportunity to contribute to Forums organized to address innovative topics at the heart of their specialty.

RICS is selecting carefully the new Chartered Surveyors :

The candidates must have a recognized and accredited academic qualification, contribute two years of structured on-the-job training and experience, finalized by the formal assessment of their professional competence.
